Statement

THE PRODUCT
Offer high quality baked breads, crackers, sweets, pastries, iced cream and various other food products. This is done by using local ingredients as much as possible and using traditional/innovative methods.

  • As much as possible use local grown ingredients

  • Use traditional methods for baking (for example kneading bread by hand instead of mixers).

  • Allow staff and customers the option to create product flavours.

 

THE CUSTOMERS

                      Offering high quality products on a retail, catering or wholesale level.

  • Allowing the customer to create their own bread flavours

  • Honour the customer’s need to have/omit specific ingredients in their bread

  • Offer large volume initiatives.

  • Offer smiles/encouragement and wish them a “Great Day”

 

THE STAFF
Offer employment and career opportunities while holistically looking at the whole person.

  • Offer employment/programs to people who are deemed the “unemployable” in society.

  • Offer employment/programs to people who want a second chance to make good on their lives.

  • Offer baking/connecting programs to staff who are trying to connect with their loved ones.

  • Offer supports for staff to get adequate housing/food/health care and financial support.

  • Offer programs for learning and self growth.

  • Encourage staff creativity.

  • Strive to give a great day everyday to all.

 

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM
Offer competitive opportunities to grow and develop their trade/ expertise while developing Gozie’s Bread.

  • Encourage career development.

  • Set up a way for the managers to work so many hours a month with the front line workers.

  • Set up staff meetings so that all can participate and be heard.

  • Discourage top heavy management.

  • Encourage collaborative thinking/doing.

  • Embrace/consider everyone’s ideas.

 

THE VOLUNTEERS
Offer opportunities for all volunteers to feel needed/respected and to let them give back to society.

  • Give them options as to what they would like to do.

  • Give them adequate support for them to fulfill their chosen roles.

  • Give them the option to all the benefits that the paid staff get.

  • Honour them and make them feel they are part of Gozie’s Bread and that they are appreciated
